I found this image very emotive, I think it was the abandoned shoe. The piles of spheres also reminded me of stacks of skulls. Strong work.

You say "city" and concrete blocks raising to the sky come to mind. But a "town" is different... spherical shapes that seem to break that concept of straight lines & angles, but in closer inspection, the spheres contain lines & angles. And although they seem to have fallen off the shelves of the great construct around them, there is no way they could have once fitted there ...
Your work is always so multi-layered and invokes so many different feelings! And the quote is great, a suffering artist is very fitting for this image, which somehow brings feelings of torment.

that's a very small shoe considering the size of the painting. They say: The smaller the painting, the more difficult it is.
For me it's the opposite: The bigger the trickier...
This place looks like a landfill oor cemetery for deserted homes. The families that have broken up, the bonds that were destroyed or torn apart. Lovers' breakups, children growing older and leaving their parents' house, loners quitting a life that didn't suit them to go after their dreams...
Desertation and emptiness, that's what I get.
