This is my entry to @danielfs ART activity for this week: the human body
When I saw this contest yesterday, I didn't hesitate to grab my pencils and bond paper to draw a human body, at first I having a hard time on what to draw like I know it's a human body but what? I am clueless then I read @danielfs' rules again and there I saw that artistic nude is allowed so I made one. This is my first time doing nude art with my graphite pencils.
And also it's been a while since I draw for an entry to a drawing contest for someone who's wearing eyeglasses and it was my guy best friend's face that I chose to draw when he is sleeping. I'll just hope I am not yet too late to enter this entry since last night and this morning we don't have an electricity due to the bad weather and lately I am in school taking my final exams for this semester but since it's okay now so I am posting this one.
Materials Used
Graphite pencils (6H, 2H, 2B, 3B & 4B)
Bond paper
Eraser
Cotton buds
Work in Progress
- Quick sketch by using 6H graphite pencil
- I tried to arrange its body or true form and tracing the body by using 2B
- I continued on her back hair by scribbling a little by using 4B graphite pencil
- Then I used 6H for my first base for shadowing and I spread it with cotton buds and my forefinger.
- I continued on adding 4B to make it darker for the shadow.
- I blend it all by using cotton buds and my forefinger then I repeat the process of marking its edges again by 2B
- I was not planning to add her background because I want a shadow for her but it won't fit on the bond paper anymore so I thought maybe adding something dark will emphasize her body so I added horizontal lines by using 3B & 4B.
- Then I blend it all by using cotton buds and my forefinger and also I erased some of the transgressed shadows.
This is the final output of my drawing: the human body.
