The Past.

Back in the old days, around 25 years ago, we used to play RPG games like crazy. Started with AD&D and after playing all the different fantasy sets, from Raveloft to Dragonlance we switched to more adult themes (lol) like Call of Cthlulu. My friend @nyarlathotep was an amazing story teller (or Keeper in Mythos games) and always created exciting stories with mystery and a lot of twists and turns for us players. Death or madness was waiting in every corner and the Great Old Ones were laughing at us and our every futile attempt to stop them.

The Present.

This year we decided to ignite the old dark flame and after warming up a bit by playing the Eldritch Horror tabletop game we lured @nyarlathotep into start thinking of a future CoC campaign. We even created characters and he got ready a short story to begin our descend to madness. The only thing that was missing was the Keeper's screen and this task was bestowed to me, the artist of our little group.

The Artwork.

I admit that i am not feeling very creative these days and so i used a part of an old digital artwork as a central theme and try to work around it adding more features and little themes. It would be a 3 fold screen and so i had to divide the artwork in three parts. I found a nice art nouveau frame and combined with the Elder Sign to make it more occult looking at used to create the different pages. The central theme is the tentacle girl, or Cthulhu's bride, and for the sides i found and used a vintage photo from an old detective movie. For the two windows i found a an old photo of New york and one from the Pyramids and of course a lot of tentacles all around. I used a black and white yellowish colour to unify all the different elements and create and nice contrast with the purple background and last but not least a filter with scratches to make the artwork look old and worn out from time and decay.

Shared at my facebook page and twitter as part of the posh initiative to raise more attention to Steem.

Nice! Merry Chtu...Christmas!

Merry Cthulhumass to you too:) In greek we make more interesting puns and word compinations for the Great Old One,lol

That sounds really fun, it is good to have friends so creative, I love story teller, they have such amazing fantasy. Your work really reminded me "James Bond" movies. Good combination of yellow-sepia tone with purple. Hope you have a great time together with your friends!

He has a James Bond style indeed:) Thank you so much Stef, i hope you have a great time too:)

Merry Chtustmas

To you too:):)

If ever that I invent a game, you will be my chosen artist Sir George.
Although I am not familiar with any games, the pictures of the woman, the guy with the gun and the colors tell me that this is a thriller wrapped in the tentacles of mystery.
A great effort here my friend!
Blessings!

It is indeed a thriller and if the person who is making the game is talented, its like playing in a movie, lol. Thank you so much:)

Ah! Let's hope that it takes off with a bang Sir George.
May you guys have a better new year than this one.
Blessings!
