Gail Arts: My Fine Little Parrots (Acrylic and Oil Paint on Canvas Steps)
It has been raining cats and dogs for the past few days and according to weather forecast, there are two or three low pressure areas (LPA) in the Philippine Area Responsibility (PAR). This might go on for days and I could imagine that it would also be raining on my birthday on 23rd of June! Yay!
To others, rainy days meant being lazy or chill a bit while working because I suppose the rain has that magical effect on to anyone.
Meanwhile for me, I take rainy days as special days for painting. It is as if every rain drop has added energy to my very existence and inspiration to express myself.
Look at me! I am all smiles after finishing this acrylic and oil painting on canvas of mine.
It only took two nights (just two nights!) of painting while listening to different documentaries such as the one about Albert Einstein and his famous Theory of Relativity ), Sex and Civil War, and others over youtube. We seriously have a poor internet connection at home that I only downloaded these videos on my phone whenever I am at Café Republique.
Art Process
Medium:
(1)Acryli and Oil paints
(2) Canvas Cloth
Using a board and a painting cloth that I bought at Kimshoppe, I made my mediun for painting.
After setting it up, I took a purple marker and started making curve lines. As you could observe on some of my works on the previous art posts, I really love lines because I could see it in every object that I look and even on the places that I travel to.
I wanted to make it look abstract but at the same time interactive to the eyes of the audience so I decided that the colors should be bright and complement with each other.
As you could observe, I chose different color tones. I also tried mixing colors particularly acrylics since they tend to dry easily.
I was also quick because I opt to continue on filling each spaces with colors even though some areas had not yet dried. It is evident though on the last photo that my right hand has touched some wet areas on my canvas.
You could see the rough paints right? I had thought of putting a white acrylic paint for the lines to give a bit of friendly feeling on iur artwork.
And now the simple line work has turned into an artwork.
I call this My Fine Little Parrots because the colors resemble to the parrots. There are also lines, if you observe closely that look like parrots' beaks.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. As always, enjoy art as much as how you enjoy life! Have a great dat!
