My Latest Project. LIMITED EDITION Prints - Horo Is Unity

For those who do not know, last year I quit my well-paid job with a dream to make a living though art.

The concept is to pass on inspiring information though graphics and offer them via different items, such as hand-made prints and accessories. Today, I present to you a limited edition of prints, under the title "Horo Is Unity". They are all done through silkscreen printing, which is an old technique allowing to print by hand. The edition consists 30 prints, all numbered and signed.

The text says "Horo" in the upper-left corner and "unity" in the lower right. It took me more than a month to draw the graphic and it was an inspiring process.

Horo is a traditional Bulgarian round dance. Apart from uniting people, the dance has esoteric roots. Sometimes, in the center of the circle a bagpiper plays and the others surrounding him dance. They duplicate the Cosmic, creating an energetic model of the Solar System; thus, the musician is the Sun and the dancers are the planets. This is a powerful generator of mental, physical, biological and spiritual might for those who dance the horo.

Soon, I will be releasing additional creations with the graphic, like hair accessories and bags. Here is a sneak peak into the process of the hair bands, which are my next product. They are again done through silkscreen printing.

Does your culture have the round dance? Do you know what is the meaning behind it?
Apart from getting inspired by the Bulgarian folklore, I am always curious about other nations customs and the difference/similarities between them.
