After I made 3d golden luxury sunglasses, I suddenly was thinking to make jewellery with diamonds at Fusion 360. First I had to know how to make a diamond.
Tutorial
First I sketched a Circumscribed Polygon with 16 sides. This is going to be the girdle of the diamond. The size of the girdle is 2.5 mm.
Later on, I extruded the girdle with 0.1 mm.
I extruded the girdle again, this time with 0.4mm and a tapered angle of -35 degrees.
To make star facets like a real diamond has, I had to select three corners and create a plane through the three points.
I removed that corner with Splitting body and cut operation. To do this for the hole polygon, I had to make a pattern. < Pattern > Circular pattern>
I extruded the facet on top with 0.4 mm and -50 degrees tapered angle. Later on, I made the same pattern like the previous facet.
The table of the diamond I extruded with 0.10 mm and a tapered angle of -60 degrees.
The crown of the diamond is ready.
Time to work on the pavilion of the diamond. I extruded underneath, with 1.05 mm and -50 degrees tapered angle. Then I created the triangle edges and made the same pattern like the other facets.
For the culet, I extruded it with 1.0 mm and -50 degrees tapered angle.
