Documentary photography is a style of photography that is developing in Iran these days and I am also working as a documentary photographer.
Documentary photography is a branch of photography where the photographer has to record what is happening around him/her and try to present unbiased and realistic photograph of the subject that is generally people.
The image in documentary photography is a historical document. In simple terms, the photographer plays the role of a witness who tells the truth.But many people, governments, and organizations are reluctant to see the truth, and sometimes there is a lot of opposition from these people to document photographers.
The emergence of photography and the prevalence of various methods of this technique in Iran have occurred with a difference of about three years with the announcement of the existence of photography in France.The first cameras by Daguerreotype method were introduced to the Iranian court at the request of Mohammad Shah Qajar of Russia and Britain. Nikolai Pavlov, a young Russian diplomat trained in photography, brought these devices to Tehran.
But documentary photography in Iran has thrived with the advent of social media.
