Tips On How To Draw Fur By EdgarsArt
Since i had a request recently to show more photos and to share some tips on how to draw fur,i thought i should continue this subject.
This time i selected one of my other cat drawings in progress. The tehnique was the same in this.
I started with H pencil to draw the outlines and then i made the basic shape with 2H pencil. Just the basic lines so that i could see where the highlights are. Then i just start to draw the real fur with 2B. Now the thing is that i would not be able to get that realistic look with just the pencils. Later i am shading( actually smuding) everything with a brush. That is why in the second picture the fur looks smooth and fluffy. You can use almost any synthetic brush for that. I do not have a special or expensice ones. The ones i use i ordered on ebay fot about 5 usd. So it depends on how you use the tools rather than on the price.
