It takes a manly beast to pull off a chintz club chair whilst waiting for afternoon tea

This is from my series of animals in chairs. I had fun making these and often used a plain coloured background and toyed with a psuedo shadow in rough chalk pastel that didn't always align with the actual light of the situation as I wanted it to have a playful "Peter Pan" my shadow has it's own mind aspect.

These paintings sell pretty well as graphic art and are on things from clothes to housewares. Yes, even cards.

Who wouldn't love to get a Gorilla on a chair card in the post?

This is lovely my dear. The colors are fantastic and the contrasts work really well. Now how did this guy get on to an armchair please?

Thank you. How he got on there is for you to decide, I provide the illustration, the viewer the story :)

You have a special style, first of all I like your combination of colors and shadows and then animals that express the wilderness and the object of the house expressing the warmth of a home, a strangely beautiful combination.

LOL! Perfect for friends across the political aisle... Inside says "He is in the room. We just can't ignore him..."

Now, that is a new take. See, I love how each viewer brings a new story!

I did not play politics long, I just played hard and it will forever taint my view of the world... lol! If you ever are inspired to make a card of "herding cats" I'll take a six-pack.... to start... 😜

That is one sturdy chintz club chair. (whatever one might be)... and I love what you did with the shadow idea. Doing whatever it might want on it's own.
My grandma would have loved your cards (as do I), she was a huge fan of both animals and whimsical views on life. When my small motorboat docks one of these days, it would be nice to get a whole set or 3. Because when I buy classic cards to send, I often keep them, so I can look at them over and over. Suppose I should just photograph them, but never seem to get to that step. Buying many seems to be the norm. Aren't we all the oddest of creatures, in one sense or another. I've heard SOME people even like to send long comments on the Internet. Just imagine...
Hope you have a most splendiferous night. Yours in whimsy, d

AHAHAHAHAH! You know what? I love that you put flowers on the armchair!
Gorillas are also sensitive.

Beautiful colors! The story playing in my head when I look at this is someone has a pet gorilla that they've told to stay off of the furniture, and this is the moment the gorilla gets caught. :p

I love that story! I love to hear what people come up with when they see my art.

This looks like one of my selfies. Nice work.

What a handsome beast you must be then! ;) I hope you have a chintz club chair as well :)

Cool painting...!
I like the expression of the Gorilla while he/she sat on the chair staring on something...😀😍😍
Thanks for sharing...😍😍

This gorilla has kinda vintage taste for chairs ^_^ but he is right, this is more resistant than an ikea one =D
