I recently made a post explaining how I wanted to challenge myself by exploring my creative side. My vision is to create a series of cryptocurrency inspired art projects infused with cryptography. I am going to take something really complex and make it simple, beautiful and elegant. My goal is for people to see how cryptography can be an art form and share my passion with them.
Below is my first attempt. I am still trying to teach myself how to use Design programs, and have started with a simple design. Do not let the simplicity fool you...there is a message hidden in my art.
Can you decipher it?
I have posted two versions of the same message, and would like your feedback on which you like better.
Design #1
Design #2
If you decipher the message comment below!
Any feedback is great!
I will do a follow up post explaining the art and cryptographic method used
Follow my blog @digicrypt if you are interested in cryptology and want to see more crypto art.
Hello. I am new to this site so I am still very deep in the exploration phase. I must commend your posts because you are the first person I felt compelled to read more. Interesting and useful to know I think..
More pleasant. The other has too many “air” between what you intuitively think as the actual data. Compact representations are more effective, according to me.
Good point! The second design actually uses the exact colors from STEEM as well. I think the first design would make a cool wall print though. Thanks for your input!
Hi. Yes there has been another change on the Cicada3301 website. There is now a countdown timer that counts down to midnight Sunday/Monday.
I'm still trying to figure out DNA encryption stuff and the Alberti cypher stuff with the rotors. I'm learning more than I'm working out at the moment. But I'm happy with that. Enjoy the journey.
That is really interesting, I can definitely see how you can get obsessed with their puzzles. I remember reading about Cicada years ago, I hadn't realized it was still going on until chatting with you. Very cool...best of luck solving them!
And the message is STEEM.
:) Nice Job. I thought that was fitting for my first Crypto Art release! They will only get more complex from here!
I think I've already exhausted my own capabilities!
Haha, you can always check out my cryptology series and learn more.

I am hoping this art will get people interested/ excited about cryptology

Thank you so much! That is perhaps the best comment an author can get!
Not deciphered, but I prefer the "design #2" style.
Thanks for the feedback? Why is it you prefer design #2?

Good stuff. Got here to late to solve it though.
Next time.
Thanks! That one was easy anyways, I'll make the next one more of a challenge ;)
Any progress with that Cicada crypto situation?

What Alberti cypher stuff?
