II "Hands" — My creative process: POWER
¡Hi people!
II
The hand
I chose the hand as first simbology of power: the closed fist is the force, conviction... the power. However, I research others meanings and I found this:
- Idea of activity, potency and control.
- Writings taoists: Treatise of the Golden Flower: alchemical meaning: coagulation and solution. Coagulation: spiritual concentration. Solution: no intervention, free development of the interior experience.
- Even the expression: "MANIFESTATION" in spanish: "manifestación" proceed from the term "mano" (hand).
- In the buddhic canon: Hindus and Buddhits Mudras: CLOSED HAND: dissimulation, secret, esoterism ("The hand of Buddha is not closed; he does not keep nothing")
- Royal emblem; instrument of the skill and control sing.
-
Biblical tradition and Christian. The hand as a symbol might and supremacy:
- Hand of God: receiving the manifestation of his spirit. Receiving the divine force. God in the totality of his might and effectiveness. Protect and destroys. RIGHT HAND: blessings. LEFT HAND: curses. "Fall into God's Hands": mercy, create or annihilate.
- Putting the hands over the other's hands = freedom forwarded, give up on her, give up on our power.
- Laying on of hands: energy transfer or potency.
- Hand as a diferentiating action. Human synthesis: masculine-female; passive in what it contains; active in what it has; using as a weapon and utensil; it's differentiate to the man from the animal; it's differentiate to the objects she takes or modeling.
This information i took from Diccionario de los Símbolos by Jean Chevalier
I think this it was enought to give me an incentive to design and I start to drawing
