Nei giorni scorsi abbiamo visto in vari giorni il NIEUPORT 17, bellissimo modellino finito in poco meno di una settimana.

Oggi comincio a realizzare il Panzerkampfwagen VI TIGER AUSF. E (Tiger I), nome complicato?
Lo conoscete tutti, è il famosissimo TIGER I, usatissimo tra il 1940 e il 1942 in Africa e Europa con 1.347 esemplari costruiti in tutto.
Poi dopo il 1943 l'assemblaggio venne ridotto per dar via libera alla nuova versione, il TIGER II, o anche Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf . B (Königstiger)
E' stato uno dei Tank di punta dell'esercito tedesco fin dagli inizi del secondo conflitto mondiale, infatti nessun carro poteva competere.
Non a caso nella Battaglia di Prochorovka del 12 luglio 1943 (quindi praticamente a fine vita tecnica del TIGER I) dove gli schieramenti erano composti in:

Wehrmacht

456 carri armati, compresi 35 Tiger I Ausf. E, 137 cannoni d'assalto Sturmgeschütz III

Red Army

500 carri T-34, 264 T-70, 31 carri Mk IV Churchill, pochi KV-1 e circa 50 semoventi d'artiglieria tra SU-122 e SU-76; è bene chiarire che nessun semovente SU-152 o SU-85 prese parte al combattimento.

A fine combattimento le perdite sono:
50 - 60 carri distrutti sul fronte tedesco e 400 carri distrutti sul fronte russo.
La potenza militare, bellica e industriale tedesca sono talmente avanzate che il TIGER era diventato praticamente una icona di invincibilità, non a caso gli eserciti Alleati si vedevano bene dall'attaccare dei panzer tedeschi.

Comunque, la mia è solo una spolverata generale per far capire di cosa stiamo parlando: una delle armi più potenti del secondo conflitto mondiale.

Ma passiamo al Modellino.

At the end of the fight the losses are:
