Illustration: Occultism and love - Drawing process

Hello everyone in Steem!

I will show you the process of a very particular illustration that i have made. It was inspired by the themes of occultism and love.

To begin, this illustration was made with the purpose of participating in a contest between groups of drawers in WhatsApp. I was assigned in the category of anime style and then the subjects were raffled, and for my category turned out to be "occult and love", the rules were to make an original drawing, without references, with an anime style and based on the given categories. And to make it i used:

• White cardboard (size letter)
• Colored pencils (prismacolor)
• HB pencil (for the sketch)
• Watercolors (for the background)
• White paint (for details)

And so the sketch was:

I took some time to organize my ideas and know what i was going to draw to achieve both themes. I did not want to do the typical ritual of love that everyone can think with this. So i thought a little more, then i had an idea, if we combine the occult with love, what you get is not pure, honest and considerate, but quite the opposite. Therefore, i decided to recreate a selfish, false, impure and possessive love, represented by a being consumed until becoming a skeleton and nothing else, together with a girl with supernatural features as the cause of the damage.

I started to paint the skin, ears and hair, i liked the idea of ​​putting a pale skin and give the appearance of being "ghostly", with blue, beige and mixing them with the white color and using cool colors to give a dark atmosphere to the whole drawing, so i thought the purple was the best hair color, along with some fuchsia flashes.

Having the skin ready i felt that i needed something else, so i added a little red in several parts to make it look even better. In addition to coloring the blood that falls from above and to advance more with the clothes.

To finish, i began to add the layers of watercolors to the background and drawing the skeleton and other details, for reasons of time, this was the result that i gave to compete (and i was the winner against my rival:D). But i knew that i could still improve it and i added more details, shadows and layers with watercolors in the background. Being as a final result:
