A Festival Belt for Lady Frog

Here is one of my favorite humans, the lovely Lady Frog, modeling her brand new FeraL festival belt.

Now she can carry essentials like her phone and notebook while she is helping others in her role as Ranger, or off-duty dancing the night away.

Lady Frog gave me this rust-colored suede bucket bag to repurpose. I cut off the handles for the front of the belt band, and panels from the sides for pouches and fringe.

I added some buttery smooth brown upholstery leather to complete the pouches. Each one has two pockets. The pouches are equipped with belt loops so they can be mixed and matched as desired. Of course, I couldn't resist appliquéing on a suede froggy with brasstone hypno eyes!

The rest of the belt band is carved in thick cowhide, and personalized with her name. I used Gel Antique to bring out the texture of the tooling, then added blue waterstain around the lettering, finishing with gold highlights. The coloring is fixed with a spray-on carnuba wax finish for durability.

Two D-ring tabs are included, one in the front doubling as a belt keeper, and a snap-on one for the back. Sometimes you just gotta wear a tail, you know?

There is nothing like the feeling I get when I see someone's first reaction to their custom piece. My dear friend lit up with joy, and shimmied that fringe happily. Yay!
