Tarantula 3D |Color Drawing|
Tarantula 3D |Color Drawing|
A while ago I did a job similar to this one that black and white, it was the first time I made a 3D drawing, although the result was quite good there were still some details to correct, so I wanted to try again, this time using Prismacolor Color Pencils, this is just one more step in the development of this technique, I really find it very entertaining to work with this type of drawings so it is likely that I will do it very often from now on, and more when it comes to to portray my biggest phobia, the spiders!
The Process
The sketch in a 3D drawing is a bit different from a normal drawing, it should be done a little stretched, so that when viewing it from a certain angle, the drawing with the desired shape is defined, in the sketch it took about two hours, erasing and correcting the posture of the legs watching often from my camera to have another point of view.
The Colors
This tarantula has light and striking colors, maybe that's what gives it that scary look, applying these colors in the drawing was quite simple, a mixture between Siena, Skin, Rose, Cream, White, Yellow, Orange, Brown , Gray and Black, Working the texture in detail, especially that of the legs.
The Finished Artwork
Finally, when the body of the tarantula was ready, the rest was to apply the shadow, carefully and according to the position of the spider with respect to the surface, to achieve the desired 3D effect.
