Hace ya un buen tiempo que no hacía un retrato hiperrealista, le he dedicado bastante tiempo a las prácticas de anatomía y a la fotografía en general, aunque con los estudios de dibujo realizados por mi cuenta estas últimas semanas, quería probar mis habilidades y observar el avance, y que mejor manera de hacerlo sino retratando a uno de mis actores favoritos, Peter Dinklage, reconocido por su papel como Tyrion Lannister En Game of Thrones.

It's been a while since I did a hyper-realistic portrait, I've devoted a lot of time to anatomy and photography in general, although with the drawing studies I did in recent weeks, I wanted to test my skills and observe the progress , and what better way to do it than by portraying one of my favorite actors, Peter Dinklage, recognized for his role as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.

The Process

Luego del boceto inicial donde solo se plasman las bases de los rasgos faciales, comencé por darle volumen a los ojos, empezando por el derecho, usando primero un lápiz 6H para que la sombra fuera mas sutil. Antes de darle forma a las cejas, definí la textura con un lápiz 5H y luego con un lápiz 5B para crear contraste, esto sirve para acentuar las texturas y las iluminaciones de los cabellos. Con esta misma técnica definí la parte frontal del cabello de la cabeza.

After the initial sketch where only the bases of the facial features are captured, I started by giving volume to the eyes, starting with the right, using a 6H pencil first so that the shadow was more subtle. Before shaping the eyebrows, I defined the texture with a 5H pencil and then with a 5B pencil to create contrast, this serves to accentuate the textures and the highlights of the hair. With this same technique I defined the frontal part of the hair of the head.

Para el cabello uso una técnica que he ido desarrollando con el tiempo, se trata de marcar primero fuertemente con un lápiz 6H bien afilado para definir la estructura y la dirección de cada cabello, y luego irle dando forma con lápices cada vez mas oscuros, desde el 2B hasta el 10B siempre siguiendo las lineas de dirección marcadas al principio con el lápiz 6H.

For the hair I use a technique that I have been developing over time, it is first to mark strongly with a 6H pencil sharpened to define the structure and direction of each hair, and then to give it shape with increasingly darker pencils, from 2B to 10B always following the direction lines marked at the beginning with the 6H pencil.

La misma técnica utilicé para dibujar la barba, con la diferencia de que esta vez los trazos fueron mucho mas cortos y ondulados, progresivamente fui usando los lápices mas oscuros de manera dispersa para dejar algunas zonas de iluminación, en especial en la parte inferior.

The same technique used to draw the beard, with the difference that this time the strokes were much shorter and wavy, progressively I used the darker pencils in a scattered way to leave some areas of lighting, especially at the bottom.

Luego procedí a dibujar la bufanda y el abrigo, usando solo lápices oscuros 8B y 10B, marcando de manera suave para dar la impresión de textura. Arreglé algunos detalles y le dí mas volumen al rostro, oscurecí algunas zonas del cabello y así di por culminada mi obra.

Then I proceeded to draw the scarf and coat, using only dark pencils 8B and 10B, marking softly to give the impression of texture. I fixed some details and I gave more volume to the face, I darkened some areas of the hair and thus I finished my work.
