Esta es mi primera ilustración digital hecha en la computadora usando el programa Corel Painter 2015, ya había trabajado antes en el teléfono con algunas aplicaciones de dibujo sin embargo nada como usar herramientas profesionales, no me tomó demasiado tiempo terminar esta ilustración,cerca de dos horas a penas, en realidad dibujar en digital es bastante cómodo, y con un poco de práctica puede resultar sencillo también. Habría sido bastante complicado dibujar usando el ratón de la computadora, así que usé una tableta marca Genius que mi padre tenía guardada desde hace años, parece que me sienta bien desempolvar viejas herramientas. Realmente no pensé en publicar mi primera ilustración ya que solo quería experimentar y no tenía idea de como resultaría, sin embargo, ya con el resultado final, me pareció una ilustración bastante buena para ser la primera vez.

This is my first digital illustration made on the computer using the Corel Painter 2015 program, I had worked on the phone before with some drawing applications but nothing like using professional tools, it did not take me long to finish this illustration, about two hours barely, actually drawing in digital is quite comfortable, and with a little practice it can be easy too. It would have been quite complicated to draw using the computer mouse, so I used a Genius tablet that my father had kept for years, it seems that I feel good dusting old tools. I really did not think about publishing my first illustration since I just wanted to experiment and I had no idea how it would turn out, however, and with the final result, I found it a pretty good illustration to be the first time.

Leyendo un poco por Internet vi que en este tipo de arte se trabaja por capas, por lo general la primera capa siempre es la del fondo tal y como se trabaja en las pinturas al óleo, en este caso apliqué un color azul para el fondo oscureciendo un poco mas la parte de abajo del lienzo. Tras crear una nueva capa hice el boceto básico de un barco en el centro del lienzo además de algunas sombras, y luego dibujé con mas detalle el mástil y la vela.

Reading a bit on the Internet I saw that in this type of art you work by layers, usually the first layer is always the background as you work in oil paintings, in this case I applied a blue color to the background darkening a little more the bottom part of the canvas. After creating a new layer I made the basic sketch of a boat in the center of the canvas plus some shadows, and then I drew with more detail the mast and the sail.

Los reflejos en el agua los hice con color blanco, bajando un poco el tamaño del pincel y subiendo la opacidad, acentuando mas la claridad en los bordes superiores cerca del barco, y luego usando un color azul grisáceo hice las iluminaciones de la zona inferior.

The reflections in the water I did with white, lowering a bit the size of the brush and raising the opacity, accentuating more the clarity in the upper edges near the boat, and then using a blue-gray color I made the illuminations of the lower area.

Para la luna pinté un circulo totalmente blanco de tamaño mediano, y luego bajando la opacidad del pincel a 3% pinté las iluminaciones de los alrededores de forma circular, y para acentuar mas el efecto de brillo, oscurecí un poco mas las zonas lejanas del cielo y en ellas pinté algunas estrellas bajando el tamaño del pincel en 2% y subiendo la opacidad al máximo, dándoles brillo luego de la misma forma que a la luna.

For the moon I painted a totally white circle of medium size, and then lowering the opacity of the brush to 3% I painted the surrounding illuminations in a circular way, and to accentuate more the effect of brightness, darkened a little more the distant areas of the sky and in them I painted some stars by lowering the size of the brush by 2% and raising the opacity to the maximum, giving them brightness in the same way as the moon.

Para terminar afiné algunos detalles, le di mas forma al barco, marqué algunas lineas de brillo y le di un aspecto de niebla al borde entre el cielo y el mar además de los alrededores del barco.

To finish I refined some details, I gave more shape to the boat, I marked some lines of brightness and I gave a fog aspect to the border between the sky and the sea as well as the surroundings of the boat.
