Story of a river.....and a poem of my own #painting 06
Down she goes on a path of her own!!
she has been there longer than mankind has known!
look closely at her bends,appears to be disgusted by human she has frown !!
she hides amidst fog , untouched she wants to be gone!
fearing the chemicals ,into a river she has grown!!
black will be her water,touching the sea she would mourn !!
she nurtures mankind,in return we fool her with our con !!
the story behind this poem and the painting is the saddening and alerting levels of pollution in the river Ganga of India !! from what it was suppose to become ....to what we have turned it into !
we call her our mother, our godess still we leave no stone unturned to kill her ,humankind is a paradox in itself....!! we need not worry about mother nature ,it will take care of itself .but the way we are growing and taking a toll on earth ....we will soon be fighting for our own survival !! species have come species have gone nature will revive itself by a catastrophic disaster sweeping whole mankind in one go !!

Beautiful poem and painting. I like the point you made about the river and nature in general surviving but that humanity is the one in danger. A lot of us fail to understand that distinction. Good work.

Great poem and watercolour.
When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realise that one cannot eat money.
and we have accelerated towards that fate...with Donald trump backing off the Paris agreement !! And off those top 10 most polluted cities in world 4 are from India and one is where i live in , its been so long since i breathe in a fresh air!! want to go out on a ride on my bike bit all i get is heavy dust and PM 10 particles !!
Big companies always find ways around things such as the Paris Agreement. Secondly it makes doing business more expensive, and of course the companies do not pay this but pass the costs on to the end users - us.
If we want real change, then we have to change with which companies we spend our money, and not expect governments to make change for us. When we give over control and responsibility to governments, then they become all controlling.
We all have to start doing more things for ourselves. Gandhi demonstrated that with the walk to the sea to make salt.
My own country Australia has huge environmental problems because the government sold us out to corporations. Our indigenous peoples, are fighting the hardest to save the land.
