With regard to your query....must say....roses have place of pride in any garden of bleujays....endlessly fasinating...and fleurs as a whole are captivating. It is the design aspect of gardening...with Rosemary Verey, Penelope Hobb, Gertrude Jekyl and others that make gardening so very interesting.
That being said...sometimes plants are grown just to see how they grow...what they look like...etc.
Emphasis being on the design aspect.....secondary interest with regard to horticulture.

I want a yellow one in my front yard. They smell the most fragrant for me - imho. You know so many Roses grower's name - you really must love them.
As for David Austin - - is he this?
I only learned gardening from experience and Monty - the host of Chelsea's garden .

Yes... yellow is a lovely colour in the garden and usually fragrant.
