'Tulips On The Stem'

.......original painting, sketches, and digital artwork by @bleujay;  presented by @bentleycapital.

Finished painting........'Tulips On The Stem'

Composition drawing traced onto paper designed for watercolour.

Study of tulips.

Digital artwork divided by three for the purpose of critique.

A few details for those interested;  this painting began with a drawing from live tulips....just a study...then another drawing.....a composition of tulips within a given space.

One of the many tools available to the artist is the ability to look at one's work critically through computer editing.......perhaps determining the colour scheme, placement of the darks, etc....before ever lifting a paintbrush.

At the stage where one may think one is finished.....ask yourself if the painting cut into thirds would look like it is from the same piece of work.

Thank you for your interest.

Cheers.

The painting cut into thirds really doesnt look like it is from the same one. I love the watercolours but the vibrancy of the digital one has quite a punch on the screen does it not?

Lovely to see the arts from the ever splendid @bleujay!

Thank you for your thoughtful response @meesterboom.

The thirds are mixed up just to make it interesting.....the top one is in the middle and vice versa.

However as you say the digital colours are striking....they always bring me back to them.

You are too kind....apprecite the compliment.

Let's see if I can bring you a picture of it....the whole of it... ^__^

Cheers.

Thank you for the instructions regarding this certain piece of magic. Voila!!!

Ah, so recognisable right away now!

The digital colours really are striking! It never feels the same when footering around digitally but it does have some merit. Tis very splendid!

Thank you.....meesterboom. You are too kind.

Wishing you and yours a lovely evening. Cheers.

The colors are great and the composition works very well.

Thank you @kathleenscarboro.

Appreciate hearing these words from you.

Cheers.

I love the original!
when I saw it says digital . i thought no way .. it can't be it's water color
then I kept scrolling and found the digital ones lol
hahaha

created on a mac?ipad?
you didn't put them digital ones in order did you ?
the mid one should be the top
hmmm.. have you tried printing it?
this is the trend these days .. something like this
I love your painting by the way!
the original one would really sell :)

Thank you for your kind reply dear @englishtchrivy.

So glad to hear your enthusiasm with regard to the watercolour.

To answer your query....yes...the digitalwork was created on an ipad pro.....there is a lot yet to learn to produce a finished piece......this one was created for the purpose of presenting options really.

Yes...they were put in a different order for the purpose of not distracting from the original.....in order for one to concentrate on the purpose of the thirds......yet in hindsight, the post really should have included the digital work in its entirety.

@reddragonfly actually has a post regarding the subject of printing......he makes some good points.

To hear your appreciation for the watercolour is very inspiring......thank you....mon ami.

A bientot.

Looks great! Not sure how I missed seeing this post but this is fantastically done! The digital cut into 3 parts is very interesting a well!

Thank you @brian.rrr for your kind words and compliment.

So glad to hear you enjoyed the post.

Wishing you and your family a lovely week-end.

Cheers.

Nice job on the painting, I wish I had skills and patience in that area.

Thank you for your lovely comment @azfix.

You do have skills and patience in your area of expertise.....extremely so.

Appreciate what you bring to Steemit....thank you.

Cheers.

The cut up photo is similar but it's not in order. On it's own like you've placed it - it still makes a great statement.

I love the oranges and blues together. Very pleasing to my eyes and emotions.

I enjoy watercolor in general but the digital painting is also good - it's sharper vs the nice way watercolor moves over the lines. So I like them both - hard to choose.

Thank you @countrygirl for your response.

Indeed....one would not want to be put in a position to have to choose between the two.

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts......

Digital experimentation before painting does assist in so many ways.

Lovely posts you have out there.

Cheers.

Thank you @maarnio.....very kind of you.

I will give it a look.

Cheers.
