For those interested in details.....
These harbingers of Spring required a couple of sketches to determine what setting would suit these flowers of simplicity and elegance. Since they are simple one could place them in a setting of complexity for contrast......however it seemed elegance was also required.....hence the choice of the carpet.
The use of contrast is important in any artwork.....and can be attained in several ways....use of contrasting colour....use of contrasting line with curve......or contrasting light with darker tones.
