What is interesting about the month of January is that it's lack of colour provides opportunity to work with what is called 'value', the various tones from light to dark
The finished work above began with the original photograph of the skye and the thought of fleurs to come in a few months...as a result, no meaningful colour.
This particular artwork is part of a series of works in these value studies.

it is nice to see the change of our thoughts when we see something in colors and black and white. The sky in monochrome looks more interesting, for me it was like a dancing smoke, I can imagine that you could see petals and stamens in there. Nice combination of colors and beautiful composition. Like it!

The black and white skye does look a bit like smoke......however, when I think of what you might see in it....I was thinking you might see an x-ray gone awry. ^__^

That is really nice comparison, now looking back I believe you are right, I can remember having such problem with Xray, when we had to use ourselves because the technician was off sick. Love your comment, you made me laugh :)
