The Festival of the Arts
On Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, the Cultural Association "i colori della vita" organizes two days full of artistic and cultural initiatives in the Historic Center of Terracina. It starts on the 31st at 9.00 am, a drawing and painting competition, with the participation of over 300 students from the schools of Terracina and Borgo Hermada. Imagine hundreds of kids intent on depicting subjects of immense cultural and artistic value, the Foro Emiliano, the Roman Theatre, Piazza del Municipio and the Cathedral.

These interactive methods foster love and passion in young people, which lead them in creative instances. An artistic visceral relationship between the young and the country that has no precedents in the history of the City of Terracina.
Another initiative of great cultural importance is the conference "Leonardo and the reclamation of the Pontine marsh", on the 31st at 9.15 pm in Piazza Domitilla. The speaker is Dr. Venceslao Grossi, president of the Archeoclub of Terracina, who will present new contents, based on capillary research, on the presence and the first great cartographic work of the Renaissance Genius.

The association "the Colours of life" will publish a report of the conference, considering the importance of the topic.
The second day begins with the national painting competition at 8.30. Dozens of artists will realize pictorial works, and at the same time they will exhibit other pictorial works for the public. The awarding of the student competition will follow at 11.30 am, the whole will be cheered up by the children's choir of the Montessori Institute in Terracina. The public will be able to observe how the creation of a work of art takes place, in all the moments of the execution, from the first sketches to the final ones. The artistic event will have as stage one of the most interesting and spectacular Historical Centre in Italy, the ancient village of Terracina, where the spectators will also be able to taste the specialities of the Pontine territory.
In the evening, there will be the award ceremony of the national competition, which has a total prize money of 3,000 euros. The jury will choose 8 works that will become part of the collection of the Tawn-Hall of Terracina, a cultural trend already in vogue in Tuscany and other regions of Italy.

Target and Prizes
The purchase prizes are divided as follows:
1st place, € 1000.00 (one thousand)
2nd place, € 600.00 (six hundred)
3rd place, € 400.00 (three hundred)
4th place, € 200.00 (two hundred)
5th place, € 200.00 (two hundred)
6th place, € 200.00 (two hundred)
7th place € 200.00 (two hundred)

• Additional prizes can also be awarded during the event.
• All non-awarded works can be sold privately by the artist.
• Prizes will be delivered by bank transfer after payment by the Municipality of the contribution granted within 120 days.
  For a correct prize-giving it is essential that the winning artists collect the prize in person.

Regulations
Art.1 - The Competition
As part of the ART FEST in May 31 and June 1, the Cultural Association "The Colours of life" and the Department of Culture with Patronage of the Town-Hall of Terracina, indicate the 1st Extemporary Painting Prize “City of Terracina "on the theme" Walking with Leonardo in the Historic City Centre" reserved for all Italian and foreign artists of any trend or artistic orientation.
During the competition the artists will be able to exhibit and sell their works to the public, in the space that they will choose.

Art.2 - Suggestions
The participating artists will elaborate their works with specific reference to beauties of Terracina Historic City Centre and the figure of Leonardo da Vinci.
All authors are invited to consider and reflect on the following indications:

• Paths of life, reported to the architecture and colors of Terracina Historic City Centre of and / or of the the Pontine plain: the sea, its canals, rivers, coastal lakes;
• Leonardo and his immense work, also in consideration of his intervention for the reclamation of the Pontine plain, approved in the 16th century by Pope Leo X and never completed ;
• the voices and characteristics of historic buildings and urban routes inside them;
• history and culture as the story and experience of each of us

During the day, the spectators will be able to visit, inside the Council Hall of the Palazzo Comunale, the exhibition of students' drawings executed during the "Blue Christmas".
The evening will end in Piazza Municipio with the exibition of Umberto Palmacci and his sax and DJ set, a very talented musician who will also make us dance to the rhythm of great music.

La Festa delle Arti
Venerdì 31 maggio e sabato 1 giugno, l'associazione Culturale “i colori della vita organizza due giorni ricchi di iniziative dal carattere artistico e culturale nel Centro Storico di Terracina.

Si comincia il 31 alle ore 9.00, gara di disegno e pittura dal vivo, che vede la partecipazione di oltre 300 studenti delle scuole di Terracina e Borgo Hermada. Immaginate centinaia di ragazzi intenti a raffigurare dei soggetti di immenso valore culturale e artistico, il Foro Emiliano, il Teatro Romano, la piazza del Municipio e la Cattedrale.
Queste sono modalità interattive che favoriscono l'amore e la passione nei giovani, che sfociano le loro pulsioni in istanze creative. Un rapporto artistico viscerale tra il giovane e il territorio che non ha precedenti nella storia della Città di Terracina.
Altra iniziativa di grande rilievo culturale è la conferenza “Leonardo e la bonificazione della palude pontina” che si terrà il 31 alle ore 21.15 a piazza Domitilla. Il relatore è il dott. Venceslao Grossi, presidente dell'Archeoclub di Terracina, il quale esporrà dei contenuti nuovi, fondati su ricerche capillari, sulla presenza ed il primo grande lavoro cartografico del Genio rinascimentale.
L'associazione “i colori della vita” editerà una pubblicazione della conferenza, considerato l'importanza del tema trattato.

Il secondo giorno comincia con la gara nazionale di pittura alle ore 8.30. Decine di artisti realizzeranno le opere pittoriche dal vivo, e nel contempo esporranno altre opere pittoriche per il pubblico.

Seguirà alle 11.30 la premiazione della gara degli studenti, il tutto allietato dal coro dei bambini dell'Istituto “Montessori” di Terracina. Il pubblico potrà osservare come avviene la creazione di un opera d'arte, in tutti i momenti dell'esecuzione, dai primi schizzi, fino alla fase finale. La kermesse artistica avrà come palcoscenico uno dei più interessanti e spettacolari Centri Storici di Italia, il borgo antico di Terracina, dove all'interno di esso gli spettatori potranno anche degustare le specialità del territorio pontino.
Arriviamo alla sera e alla premiazione della gara nazionale, che ha come montepremi complessivo 3.000 euro. La giuria sceglierà 8 opere che entreranno a far parte della collezione del Comune di Terracina, una operazione culturale già in voga in Toscana e altre regioni d'italia.
Durante la giornata gli spettatori potranno visitare, all'interno della Sala Consiliare del palazzo Comunale, la mostra dei disegni degli studenti eseguiti durante il “Blue Christmas”.
La serata si chiuderà con Umberto Palmacci sax e dj set live, in piazza Municipio, un musicista di grande talento che ci farà anche ballare al ritmo di grande musica.
