Australian Aboriginal art is among the oldest expressions of man.
It extends throughout Australia and embraces the visual forms of painting, and music, with a unique and very special instrument: the didgeridoo, of which I edited a short video.

There is no higher art than the others.
Art is a form of expression of the human being, and is expressed individually or collectively.
All forms of human expression, from written texts to music and the figurative arts, lead to different forms of creativity, following different techniques and principles.

What matters is also a great capacity, sometimes innate, sometimes handed down, even out of necessity, sometimes polite.

The most important aspect of all artistic cultures in the history of humanity is universally recognized in the principle of the aesthetic expression of the interiority of the human soul.
Through sound, music, a poem, a story or a painting, men from their appearance on earth seek a contact with the transcendent.
They make visible what is not visible but can be felt.

Australian Aboriginal art is all this, but even more archaic and pure.
It was, intact and absolute, until the appearance of European colonization, which subsequently brought new techniques and new materials, such as watercolor and acrylic on canvas.
Aboriginal art includes, in addition to painting, wood sculpture, and the craft production of characteristic objects such as the boomerang, and musical instruments, in my opinion entrancing as the didgeridoo.

A tool, total and engaging despite its simple form.
The musician enters the instrument, through breathing and the flow of the abdomen, amplifying the sound, through breathing produces a considerable amount of harmonics that influence the state of consciousness, both of the musician and the listener.
This instrument, made of eucalyptus wood, together with pictorial art, is a link to Dreamtime, the world of creation, for aboriginal artists.
In Aboriginal culture it is a cosmogonic world where everything comes from.

The traditional Aboriginal painting technique is extremely interesting.
Before the aborigines came into contact with European artists, they used to paint by mixing the natural lands, ochres and kangaroo blood, with saliva or water.
A mixture with salivation was a very intimate and strong contact with the earth and the subsequent color rendering on the wood was the result of the artist's body and soul.

Often these pictorial operations were so ancient that they could be traced back to the Paleolithic, one of them was the spray technique.

The artist filled his mouth with color, spraying it on the surface to be painted.
Intimate and carnal contacts with the earth and with the colors that the earth gave.
Another technique still widely used today is to dip the color with sticks and dab it with dots on the surface to be filled.

Today many aboriginal artists are famous and use the colors of industry, such as acrylics and oil colors, but the fascinating main technique of painting remains: the watercolor, in their tradition a technique used with natural earthy pigments, and diluted with water and saliva.
Often the aborigines painted their works on the territory, to outline and mark the area of ​​the clans.
The result with beautiful effects was a kind of Land Art, which disappeared with time and atmospheric agents.

L'arte aborigena australiana è tra le più antiche espressioni dell'uomo.
Si estende in tutta l'Australia e abbraccia le forme visive della pittura, e della musica, con uno strumento unico e molto particolare: il didgeridoo, di cui ho montato un breve video.

Non esiste un'arte più elevata delle altre.
L'arte è una forma espressiva dell'essere umano, e si estrinseca individualmente o collettivamente.
Tutte le forme di espressione umana, dai testi scritti alla musica e alle arti figurative, portano a forme di diverse di creatività, seguendo tecniche e principi differenti.

Quello che conta è anche una grande capacità, a volte innata, a volte tramandata, anche per necessità, altre volte educata.

L'aspetto più importante di tutte le culture artistiche nella storia dell'umanità è universalmente riconosciuto nel principio dell' espressione estetica dell'interiorità dell'animo umano.
Attraverso il suono, la musica, una poesia, un racconto o una pittura, gli uomini dalla loro comparsa sulla terra cercano un contatto con il trascendente.
Rendono visibile e sensibile quello che non si vede, ma si può sentire.

L'arte aborigena australiana è tutto questo, ma ancora più arcaica e pura.
Lo è stata, integra e assoluta, fino alla comparsa della colonizzazione europea, che successivamente ha apportato nuove tecniche e nuovi materiali, come l'acquarello e l'acrilico su tela.
L'arte aborigena comprende, oltre alla pittura, la scultura in legno, e la produzione artigianale di oggetti caratteristici come il boomerang, e strumenti musicali, a mio giudizio estasianti come il didgeridoo.

Uno strumento, totale e coinvolgente nonostante la sua forma semplice.
Il musicista entra nello strumento, attraverso la respirazione e il flusso dell'addome, amplificandone il suono, attraverso le respirazione produce una notevole quantità di armonici che influenzano lo stato di coscienza, sia del musicista che dell'ascoltatore.
Questo strumento, in legno di eucalipto, insieme all'arte pittorica, sono per gli artisti aborigeni il collegamento al Dreamtime, il mondo della creazione.
Nella cultura aborigena è un mondo cosmogonico dove ha origine il tutto.

La tecnica pittorica aborigena tradizionale è estremamente interessante.
Prima che gli aborigeni venissero in contatto con gli artisti europei, usavano dipingere mescolando le terre naturali, le ocre e il sangue di canguro, con la saliva o con l'acqua.
Un impasto con la salivazione era un contatto molto intimo e forte con la terra e la successiva resa cromatica sul legno era il risultato del corpo e dell'anima dell'artista.
Spesso queste operazioni pittoriche, erano così antiche, da poter risalire al paleolitico,una fra tutti era, la tecnica a spruzzo.
L'artista si riempiva la bocca di colore, spruzzandolo di getto sulla superficie da dipingere.

Contatti intimi e carnali con la terra e con i colori che la terra donava.
Altra tecnica molto usata ancora oggi è quella di intingere con dei bastoncini il colore e tamponarlo a puntini sulla superficie da riempire.

Oggi molti artisti aborigeni sono famosi ed usano i colori dell'industria, come gli acrilici e i colori ad olio, ma resta l'affascinante tecnica principe della pittura: l'acquarello, nella loro tradizione una tecnica usata con pigmenti naturali terrosi, e diluita con acqua e saliva.
Spesso gli aborigeni dipingevano le loro opere sul territorio, per delineare e marcare la zona dei clan.
Il risultato con effetti bellissimi era una sorta di Land Art, che scompariva con il tempo e gli agenti atmosferici.

Un'arte magnifica, libera ed intima, dal legame doppio tra artista e Madre Terra, che purtroppo sta andando scomparendo, per sempre.
