The Pregnant Kaos

Another of my illustrations from Kaos Hieroglyphica. The three headed serpent figure for this one came to me in a dream. In the dream I had a front row seat at a strange church service. The priest was Gnostic and there were strange icons of various gods and goddesses on the floor before the dias to the altar. We were each directed to connect to one of the images that resonated. My eyes were drawn to one of a goddess with serpents for arms and a serpent head. As I gazed at it I entered trance and began to sway and dance. My arms became serpents and moved in serpentine waves. At some point the goddess told me her name was Shenag.

Years later I discovered a thousand headed serpent entity in Hinduism named Sheshenag, the King of Serpents. Gender difference asside this was a remarkable synchronicity.

The figure is pregnant with an egg. I mentioned Dr John Dee's Monas Hieroglyph in my previous post about the Duality image. Well, in this image the egg contains the Monas Hieroglyph. It marks the begining of the journey for the egg that will eventually hatch into the dragon.
