My Last Offering
Today’s illustration is a little closer to my heart because I recently bid farewell to an elder family member and the final memory of showering flower petals feels like it has forever been etched into my mind.
When I think about death in a practical way and without any attachment/emotions, I find this natural law to be quite poetic. One moment a person is right there and the next he is gone, just like the petals of a dandelion - gone with the wind. I don’t know what happens after we die, wether we are reborn or our energies are just dispersed into this universe or none of that happens and it just ends right then and there.
All energy is only borrowed and one day you have to give it back.
The quote above is from the movie Avatar, but when I think about life in a grand scale, it makes most sense to me. I mean who knows right? But I would like to believe so. That maybe it really is true.
And even if it’s not, this is the only way that makes death understandable for me.
