Aroma Therapy, Hypnotic Music, Yoga and Meditation
I am fortunate.
Not free of trouble, not pasted my crisis. But I count myself fortunate to have the time to delve deeply into Hot Yoga (almost twice each day) and also to have quite time to practice guided meditations.
Aroma Therapy With Incense
I recall visiting the houses of other people where, the moment I walked in... I felt peace, relaxation and a welcoming aroma of incense. Recently I went on a trek to buy some high quality incense to give my new apartment this fragrance and comfortable vibe. Each time I leave for a yoga class, I light a stick. When I come back home - I am welcomed with the soft scent.
Calming The Mind With Hypnotic Music
Some of the Hot Yoga classes have music, some do not. I prefer those with music - and, because we have so many different instructors, I've been exposed to a range of 'Yoga Music'. Some instructors guide the yoga class with a playlist of their favorite popular songs - while others have found fantastic collections of traditional music from east India. Still others bring a selection of hypnotic trance-like music.
And I've been inspired to begin finding and collecting music that I would like to have in the background of a Yoga Class... if I were the teacher.
My Hot Flow Yoga Class Music Mix
Youtube is a great resource. Eventually I will compile and edit specific tracks into the following format:
- 30 minutes of calm, rhythmic music with percussion, flute and OM chanting - for those students who enter the yoga studio room to lay on their yoga mats and relax before class starts.
Then, the 60 minute class would have a sequence of tracks that
- start the class sequence with a 7 minute slow but epic beginning
- 10 minutes of building rhythms
- 25 minutes of upbeat and energetic hypnotic instrumental music with percussion and electronic mix.
- Then a transition of to 7 minutes of percussion, flute and traditional (sounding) Indian music
- The final 10 minutes of the active class with a deeper calm rhythm
After the 'Namaste' at the end of practice
- A closing 20 minutes of after-class traditional Yoga-style music that is a more relaxed, sleep-inducing style of music than the pre-class music.
If you have any suggested tracks - please share them in the comments below.
