Wat Huay Pla Kang, one of the beautiful temples in Chieng Rai province, in the North of Thailand
Apart from Wat Rong Suea Ten, as advised by my previous post, https://steemit.com/architecture/@tangmo/wat-rong-suea-ten-one-of-the-popular-tourist-destinations-in-chieng-rai-province-in-the-north-of-thailand, I would like to recommend you visit also “Wat Huay Pla Kang” which is another beautiful temple in Chieng Rai province, in the North of Thailand.
Yeah! If you love art and architecture, you would certainly also love this temple because the architectures, the sculptures, and the paintings here are magnificent.
The most remarkable building is the 9-story chedi named “Phob Chok Thammachedi” which has Chinese-Lanna-style architecture. (1st and below photo) Its shape looks amazing and unique. The red roofs are gorgeous and can make the Chedi looks more fascinating.
This chedi is surrounded by small pretty golden chedis at the base. Very attractive!
If you can notice, there are many dignified dragons on the roofs and on both sides of the stairs.
Another highlight of this temple is the giant white sculpture of Bodhisattva (or Kuan Yin - the Chinese goddess of mercy) which can be seen from distance.
Very marvelous and looks sacred!
The white stairs with huge dragons at both sides are sparklingly beautiful and impressive.
The white building in the 1st photo (viharn - the main building) and the one in 7th and below photo are marvelous with the huge Nagas on both sides of the stairs. And many small Nagas were decorated on the roof as well.
It’s believed that if you visit this temple, you will go to heaven…..
In the meantime, apart from the beauty of arts and architecture, I also love that this temple is located on the hill. The surrounding view is stunning and spectacular.
Um! Plenty of wonderful clouds in the photos are also my favorite..., as you may know! ;))))
If you visit Chieng Rai, you must not miss this temple.

This temple is really beautiful and completes my picture of a colorful and fascinating Thailand.
However, I must confess that I have never been very attracted to Asia. It is sooo different and often it is enough for me to read interesting reports and look at beautiful photos.
Should I change my mind at some point, I will call you and book you as a travel guide... ;-)

Ah! I understand that we are sooo different; i.e. cultures, architectures, etc. In the meantime, I'm happy that you found this temple interesting and it's great to know that you like to read interesting reports and look at beautiful photos of Asia.
