Chalet Bécassines
Located on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in the municipality of Potton, Canada, this four-bedroom cottage and dormitory comfortably accommodates more than a dozen people and allows them to admire the site with its wide openings on the surrounding nature.
The cottage consists of an assembly of four cubes around a central volume through which we cross the site from the arrival plateau to the lower plateau that leads to the lake.
A large terrace allows you to enjoy the woodland through which the lake lets its mysterious presence filter. A large vertiginous balcony thanks to an invisible railing at its end rises to the Memphremagog below, from the master bedroom, and protects part of the terrace below.
A large folding door at the base of the curtain wall, facing the lake, allows to enlarge the dining room and to receive many tables in good weather. The cedar and spruce wood floors distinguish each of the volumes of the composition. The white stained wood panel covers the central core and extends under the porch of the main entrance to accommodate the occupants. The color palette of the chalet ranges from dark gray to brighter gray to white. Concrete, glass, stained wood, porcelain, marble and quartz make up most of the materials.
