House N ° 3, renovation and extension of a house in Mallorca by Kresings Architektur

Kresings Architektur completed the renovation and extension of an old building overlooking the small medieval town of Pollença, Mallorca, Spain. The project aimed to reflect the atmosphere and qualities of the region.

When entering the building, the temperature is ideal, it is due to the thick brick walls of the ground floor that regulate the indoor temperature throughout the year. The residence has a total area of ​​125 m2 spread over four levels and has three bedrooms. Access to the upper floors is provided by a central staircase. The kitchen is located on the third level and communicates with the rooftop terrace, the highest point in the entire building. The beige tones and the green shutters of the neighborhood buildings gave way to white for the interiors and facade. Only two elements of the house have color, the main entrance door and the staircase between the kitchen and the terrace. Both mark the transition between inside and out with a bright and welcoming yellow.
