The Ruins - Taj Mahal of Negros

This Ruins is the remains of the ancestral home mansion, an Italianate architecture of the wealthy family of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. It was known to be the "Taj Mahal of Negros" in memory of his Portuguese wife Maria Braga Lacson who died while giving birth to their 11th child. It was built the early 1900s and constructed on a 440-hectare plantation. During World War II, the mansion was burnt down by the American colonial masters to prevent it from the invading Japanese forces to use it as a military office.
