Hluboka castle in Czech republic

Today I decided to tell you about Hluboka castle.

Hluboká Castle (Czech Zámek Hluboká) is a castle in the South Bohemia, built in pseudo-Gothic style. It is located in the town of Gluboka nad Vltavou 140 km south of Prague.

The castle was founded in the middle of the 13th century by a Czech king on a cliff 83 meters high above the Vltava River near the town of Podgradi and built in the Gothic style.

The first mention of the castle dates back to 1285, when the family of the Vítkovičs already owned it. His original name - the castle of Frauenberg.
For its history the castle was replaced by 26 owners.
In 1947 the castle of Hluboká was nationalized and has since been a state museum.

The castle complex includes 140 rooms, 11 towers, 2 courtyards, a glassed-in conservatory, stables. The walls of the castle from inside and outside are decorated with hunting trophies of its former owners.

In the castle's chambers you can see the knights' armor of the Schwarzenberg family, whose family property he became in 1660.

The castle features furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, a collection of Dutch paintings from the 16th to 17th centuries, historical weapons, porcelain, faience and glass (dating back to 1604), and old tapestries. Ceilings in the rooms of the castle, doors, picture frames are decorated with elaborate wood carvings.

Around the castle stretches English park of 190 hectares with rare species of trees and ponds system.
