The Iconic Scottish Forth Bridge As Seen From Newhalls Rd
This is our entry to the architectural photography contest hosted by @juliank.
This photo was taken by Capt'n not long before we emigrated to New Zealand. We spent an afternoon at South Queensferry with some of Wench's family, enjoying a pub lunch and the views across the Firth.
Photo taken with a Fujifilm FinePix V10.
To the left of the picture, behind the Maid of the Forth you can see one of the supension towers of the Forth Road Bridge.
The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 9 miles west of Edinburgh City Centre. It is considered an iconic structure and a symbol of Scotland and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Construction started: 1882

Good shot
Thank you.
The column that holds the bridge looks like a chess piece. Nice angle, beautiful. 😊
They do a bit don't they. :)
