Hoi Tong Monastery Park - Guangzhou, China

I live in a city of about 130.000 in popullation. My whole country has 4.5M people. Landing to Guangzhou - China, and driving with a taxi to the hotel, through a city of about 17M in popullation... What a change that was...

Which ever direction you look at, skyscrapers are visible all the way to the horizon... There's no sea, no forests, nothing. Just a concrete jungle in every direction, buildings packed one over another...
After spending some time in the city I managed to visit the Hoi Tong Monastery park. Entering through the gates of the park was as if you get teleported somewhere far away. The city noise and hum is heard, but sillenced. The park was not crowded with people and it was very peacful. The predominant sounds were budhhist chants and the birds from the trees... I could have spent a couple of days there to reset myself.

This little oasis, first established in 10th century, is surrounded with tall buildings, but the trees within the park are doing their best to cover them. It gave me a much needed peace of the mind before the teleportation back to the city rush...
