Belgrade Cooperative [eng/срп] Београдска задруга
Belgrade Cooperative was a cooperative bank founded in 1882, while that was still a honest business, to promote savings and support small enterprises, craftspeople and the poor of Belgrade. But the building on the photo was built in 1907, after the bloody cue and the replacement of the Obrenović dynasty, with the dynasty of Karađorđević. Autocratic regime was replaced by liberal bourgeois regime, and for a short period, the civil liberties were increased and the economic situation was improved.
Belgrade Cooperative Building was built according to the project by two leading Belgrade architects of the time, University professors, Andra Stevanović and Nikola Nestorović. It was designed in the style of academism, but with mixed styles, with elements borrowed from both eclectic academic style, as well as contemporary Art Nouveau architecture. Some may simply call that style — Decorativism.
Belgrade Cooperative Building is a cultural monument of value for the Republic of Serbia since 1979.
Београдска задруга била је задружна банка основана 1882. године, кад је банкарство још било поштен посао, ради промовисања штедње и подршке малим предузећима, занатлијама и Београдској сиротињи. Али зграда са фотографије изграђена је тек 1907. године, после крвавог државног удара и замене династије Обреновић, династијом Карађорђевић. Аутократски режим је замењен либералним буржоаским режимом, и за један кратак период грађанске слободе су повећане а економска ситуација је побољшана.
Зграда Београдске кооперативе изграђена је у складу са пројектом двојице водећих београдских архитеката тог времена, универзитетских професора Андре Стевановића и Николе Несторовића. Дизајнирана је у стилу академизма, али уз мешавину стилова, са елементима позајмљеним из еклектичког академског стила, као и из тада савремене архитектуре Арт Нуво. Неки једноставно тај стил називају — декоративизам.
Београдска задруга је утврђена као културно добро од великог значаја за Републику Србију 1979. године.
