El Gran Museo del Mundo Maya (The Great Museum of the Mayan World) of Merida is a museum located in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. It was inaugurated on December 21, 2012, on the occasion of the end of the long account according to the Mayan calendar. Dedicated to the historical and present Mayan cultures.

• The building that houses the museum was recognized in 2013 the CIDI Ibero-American Prize for Emblematic Work of the Year 2013 in Architecture, Interior Design, Museum, Lighting and Building granted by the Ibero-American Council of Interior Designers (CIDI).

• The architecture is based on the Ceiba tree that is sacred to the Mayan cosmovision. The permanent exhibition halls occupy a built area of ​​2,000 m2 and the temporary ones of 600 m2

• The Great Museum of the Mayan World received in 2012, the award named 'Best Pathfinder Project', awarded by the organizing committee of the 'Partnership Awards' event, in the category of 'Innovative Projects for the preservation of cultural heritage and its dissemination'.
