11 Great Techniques Produce Great Architecture and Amazing Photography
Architectural photography, both classical and modern, is equally rewarding and challenging for all photographers including Tobias Gawrish from Germany. Because of his passion, Gawrish often spent more time hunting for architectural objects to immortalize in photographs. In his eyes, architecture is amazing. Architecture is a Gawrish hobby.
Basically, finding a way to get the highest shots in a particular shoot is not an easy thing to do even though you've tried it many times. Architectural photography is a type of photography that uses objects such as buildings and the like that offer extraordinary beauty and charm that accurately describe objects.
Find good building objects that you can do by traveling, asking, and browsing through the internet. In addition, some photos were viewed during the exhibition. But, once again, architecture is something that people say "easy-to -ugh". It takes perseverance and patience to achieve maximum results.
There are many factors that play a role in getting the ultimate shot, some can be controlled, but some are not. Although the tips and techniques below seem reasonable to do, but not the things below that you think about every time you spontaneously photograph buildings and the like that interest you. Here are 11 techniques I can give to produce cool and amazing architectural photography.
1. Make sure of your Camera and Location Readiness
If you really want the best picture, then you should consider always bringing the camera wherever you go, because you never know when inspiration will appear. But, if the location you want to take has been selected, make sure you're ready for the location. For example, the building you specify as the subject is the place of business, then check / find out what time it is open.
In addition, you should check everything about your shoot with the owner, or also to know the circumstances around you, whether to take photos or not. Negligence being indifferent or ignorant of information can make you problematic and prevent you from getting photos of your dreams. And the last is to look at the weather forecast report for your location. Regardless of what kind of image you want - weather can ruin your day. Therefore think wisely and creatively.
2. Use the Right Photography Equipment
It is important to have the right photographic equipment for the work you do. When it comes to architectural photography, with a wide angle, then the lens with an ultra wide angle is the best choice. The type of lens of your choice allows you to gain dramatic composition and gives you the ability to adjust the overall frame of the building where your subject is being targeted. However, not all buildings will go into each of your destinations. This is where a camera with a panorama / natural beauty can be useful. While some cameras offer photos of natural beauty, consider Hugin or PTGui, which are two types of software that allows you pan panorama / beauty into one after shooting. This is also useful if you are shooting using Lens Reflex Single-Lens Digital Camera (DSLR).
3. Use the Best Time
One of the decisive factors to produce stunning photo architecture is time. Make sure you have enough time when you want to take pictures, like a day. This will not only give you enough time to get the picture you want, but also lets you get a chance to explore the building that will be the object of your photo. With enough time, you can walk around and see all sides of the building to discover which areas provide a nice and unique background for your photos. So be prepared for more time if you want to produce a stunning and good photo architecture.
4. Take a Picture of Different Weather Conditions
Paying attention to weather forecasts is the best way to ensure a perfect picture. This does not mean that you can only shoot when the sun is shining. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that the best photos are taken when the storm rolls in your head and the sky is overcast. Swirling clouds, rainfall, and perhaps rainbows, can really improve the ambience and quality of your photos.
5. Notice the Existing Light
You may be surprised to see that the difference between buildings and the environment at sunset at night or disappears behind the clouds as the sun shines brightly during the day. To see the difference, take some pictures in the day with different angles to see how they look. Then, come back at night and see what's changing about the building and the neighborhood. You will see and discover that at sunset, different shadows appear and the building will be visible with a different color display. So overall, daytime building images will look different from the night due to the light factor.
6. Take Pictures From Each Different Angle
Just as light can have an effect on how to get up to give you the right position when shooting, so do different angles. Every corner has a different interest. Therefore, try shooting in every corner that looks to produce various jobs, not the same. In addition, time plays a very important role in ensuring the correct angle for your photos. Because with enough time, you have the opportunity to walk around building / building your location while taking some pictures to ensure the angle (angle) you want.
7. Always Watch Your Composition
Putting some thought into your photography composition is especially important when dealing with architectural photography. Look for always interesting and unique angles with different perspectives whenever possible. Think of the third rule principle, and how you do it. For example, instead of taking photos from below, why not go upstairs. If you hold your camera (handheld), then set your ISO in position 400 and place your camera in a safe position. Be creative with unique and clear ideas and thoughts to produce beautiful and beautiful images.
8. Use Photography Software
Once you've finished displaying your photos, there are a few things you can do to improve the quality of your photos to make them look good and interesting. This can be done by using a software program software (software) is correct. For example, Perfect photo suite, Dxo, and Adope Photoshop. If you're not used to using the perfect photo suite, Dxo, and photoshop, you can also try the younger software to use apple aperture or adobe small space. That's why, use the right software to produce amazing and interesting photos to your liking.
9. Color or Black and White
Another thing to note in taking an architectural drawing (building) is the image of your image, whether color or black and white. Although this decision (determining the color or black and white) is purely from the photographer itself, but there are some things to note. (1) In architectural photography, when you are photographing a building, the color of the building is the most important feature or display you want to highlight. Therefore, taking sharp images can be the best choice. Conversely, (2) if you just want to highlight the structural path of the building, then it is better to take pictures with a black / white look only.
10. Re-examination
Photo re-examination after shooting is an interesting thing in producing a cool and good photo. These checks include: color, image sharpness, and contrast. You can use the appropriate device to check your photos. For example, Dxo and Adobe Photoshop. The proper use of the device can provide a great finish on the quality of your photos.
11. Find a Unique Location
Choosing the right filming location gives you a chance to get a good picture. There are so many famous buildings around us exactly where we are where almost all buildings experience repeated photos even though the display of lights and different weather conditions are not the same. However, this is (photo location selection) which causes why these places are known / known by many people. But, apart from all that, look for locations you've never seen (photographed by many), and produce great location photos so people will be crazy about the location you're producing.
Conclusion
Architectural or photographic photography using photographic objects such as buildings and the like is an interesting thing in producing good images without any limitations such as old buildings. The perfect architectural photography we can get only with ongoing training and learning. Remember, everything takes the process, so does the photography architecture. At first or when and when you started this, things do not seem to be what you want them to be. But do not give up. Keep trying and be creative, because the end result will not betray the effort and hard work you have done. Remember, to achieve maximum results requires patience and persistence. Do not give up easily with the circumstances.
