Lot of the day: Gold antique ring
The lands of Ukraine are very rich in unique ancient finds. In the "Lot of the Day" section I will acquaint you with the latest "hot" finds sold at the Ukrainian auction of antiques.
Today I present to your attention a gold antique ring. Weight - 7.61 grams. The big stone is an amethyst. Small stones are pomegranate.
Stylistically, the ring can be attributed to the Bosporan rich jewelry. It is made probably by the Greeks before BC. But it is worth noting that separately such shields are also found in the first centuries of AD.
The ring was sold at auction for 50 200 hryvnia, which in terms of dollars is about $ 1880.
I'm always interested in agate, so I'm glad to see your post @pione888777. In the few years I've been collecting agate hundreds of pieces, most of which I have not fitted with the ring. Some of them I've already posted.
