A pillar of the videogame: The Legend Of Zelda

in #archdruid-contest5 years ago (edited)

More than 30 years ago was made a game that would form the basis of many games over the years, was able to innovate because of its different gameplay, a game that inspired many titles, which like him, are considered cult games even today, 30 years of a game that is part of the pillar of the entire video game industry, more than 30 years since the first adventure of our beloved hero, a game that today is part of history.

The Legend Of Zelda is an icon in the video game industry, a game representative of an entire generation and a game whose presence in today's era is abysmal, because for no one is surprised to know that this game, along with other greats like Mario, Sonic and Megaman, belongs to that small group of video games that are part of the childhood of many people around the world and that left a memory they will never be forgotten.

Our hero is Link, a young adventurer whose mission is to collect the 8 fragments of the Tri-Force, fragments that are found in dungeons scattered around the vast world that we are presented throughout the game, but Link's mission and in turn, our mission, is not only to recover the fragments, since the need to obtain the Tri-Force lies in the need to use them to defeat the main villain of this game, Ganon and thus rescue the princess of Hyrule, Zelda.

It could be said that The Legend Of Zelda invented the term "open world game", because of its wide map and the large number of places we can explore, places which are crowded with enemies who want to stop us, but nothing that our hero with his sword cannot achieve and no enemy can defeat.

I'm sure no one expected the great impact that this game would have and that is that it is undeniable the great change that this title represents throughout the industry, many games wanted to be like him and many developers wanted to copy the formula that catapulted The Legend Of Zelda to fame and great recognition that had at that time and that has today.

The Legend of Zelda was praised by the public for its great originality and charisma, thus making it the first NES game to surpass the million copies sold, reaching the great amount of more than 6 million copies sold in just the first version of the game, something that is certainly worth admiring, due to the standards of those years.

The Legend of Zelda knew how to do everything necessary to become what it represents today, mechanically being the first of many other games in this saga that would come in the future, served to plant the bases of what was going to represent The Legend of Zelda over the years: "A game of action, role-playing, adventure and puzzles" but above all, to be a game that gives us a lot of fun and that is something that in most of the games in this great saga have known how to maintain..... Although there are exceptions, of course.

I remember the first time I played The Legend Of Zelda I was a kid (note that this game is older than me for several years hehe) and I was so used to playing linear titles like Super Mario or arcade games like Tetris, that after observing the great freedom of movement and the great and varied mapping that I was observing in this, for me, unknown game, I knew in that instant that The Legend Of Zelda would become one of my favorite games, and although this special title is not my favorite of the whole saga, as my favorite is: The Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past, the first The Legend Of Zelda helped me to take an interest in and love what would come next.

Nothing will ever take away the merit that has and will have this great saga over the years, because most titles in this long-lived saga is the strong point of a whole generation, is the basis of inspiration for many people and developers, is a very important pillar in the world of video games, but above all is a legend that will never die.
