This picture was taken on the edge of Jasper National Park, in the surrounding provincial parks. Abraham Lake is the largest man made water reservoir in Alberta. Decaying plants at the bottom of the lake forms methane bubbles that get trapped under the clear glass like ice and form columns (the white patches are the bubble columns, there are that many). BTW, those little dots by the mountain are people, to give you an idea how large this is. For more info, here is the post associated with this feature.
