Pet on Quarantine? Her name is Kulet (Filipino word for naughty). She is seen here ...

... basking under the warm sunlight.

Kulet is one of the three little kitties who showed up on our doorstep few months ago. We named them Kulet, Orange and Trio. Kulet, because of her playful nature, Orange, obviously because of her color, and Trio, because of her colors - black, white and orange.

Orange became ill after she got bitten by a big, black neighborhood cat, and died after a few months. Trio suddenly disappeared and did not come back. We don't know what happened to her anymore.

Kulet is the only one that is left with us but she is never inside our house. She has a resting place in our shelf outside. She is free to roam outside. Some days, she doesn't come home but we do not worry. She comes back later on.

Social Distancing with Pets?!

These days though, I do not allow here inside our gate anymore. This wall behind her is the the wall of a public healthcare center next to us, which I believe caters for free Covid19 screening. Over the past month, we have seen this clinic very busy with masked people. The first few weeks, big buses carrying laborers came here.

We have afraid that she may have come in contact with people who are infected, or even the litters that these people leave in the vicinity. Therefore, she is not allowed to come near to us for the meantime. We just leave food and water for her outside the gate for when she gets hungry.

Sorry, dearie! We love you, the kids adore you. But we just can't take that chance.
