Bailey's First Vet Visit

Bailey went for his first veterinary visit today. Dr. Linda Taylor from Clinch Mountain Veterinary Services treated him for internal and external parasites, plus gave him his initial core vaccines. Other than parasitic issues, he seems to be just fine. Strong heartbeat, pink gums, bright eyes, and active disposition--he's a normal, healthy pup!

I've made contact with our Vermont rescue partner, For The Love Of Dogs, and they are going to accept him into their adoption program as soon as he can pass a health certificate examination. I suspect it may take at least a month to get him in acceptable condition. Then he'll catch a transport north and meet his furever family for the first time!

My rescue has been using Dr. Taylor since 2013. We've saved so many dogs and sent them on transport that her office has to make special shelf space for our files. I was looking at them today, at all the inactive files that represent Tazewell ARC Happy Tails, and thought I'd share what that looks like with our friends on Steemit. Check this out! A whole file box on the bottom shelf for our animals who've gone on transport to parts of the country where kill shelters don't exist.
