We used to have 2 mallard ducks named "Cheese" & "Quacker" - I miss them. And, before that we had 3 other ducks. Ducks are fun & funny to watch. We have a family saying "dumb as a duck". They are funny, cute, but can be dumb. lol Like when ducklings try to walk off the end of your hand or the end of your lap and fall off, or when they try walking (falling) down steps. Not nearly as "bright" as chickens!

There was also a time when our ducks were in our old pond - which was partly frozen over. They were at the far end - in the water, and saw my husband come over (to the near side of the pond) to feed them. They swam up until the frozen part of the pond (ice) was at their tummies, and couldn't/wouldn't get out or swim to the near side of the pond where the food was. It was funny to watch. They didn't understand the concept of getting out of the pond on the other side and walking around the edge of the pond.
