---- Howling Winds Makes Checkas a Scared Kitty ----

Checkas is a stand offish kitty at the best of times, she likes her own space for the most part and only really comes over to you for pats and affection when SHE wants to. If you move towards her even slowly she makes a bee line for the exit. This , among other skittish traits, is the standard operation of Checkas around the home.

When things get scary Checkas is usually running for the hills till the storm passes. However, when the storm sticks around for a considerable amount of time we end up with a sooky Checkas that wants to be comforted and made to feel safe. This is what has been happening lately as we are going through a considerable cold front here in oz at the moment.

Adding to this, over the past week we have had come crazy winds coming through the area which has knocked over things in the yard and made a mess. But, what has Checkas spooked the most is the howling of the winds outside. This means we have had very rare vocal communications from Checkas and multiple pat sessions a day .

As you can see from the pics she is still not sure on how to sit on people for pats.... she is figuring it out slowly, but it can mean sitting in some awkward positions so she wont fall off, lol
