THE ANIMALS NEAR US - BABY TURTLES
When your Papa is @Papa-pepper, you get to see a lot more wildlife than some kids!
In this incredible world that we live in, there are creatures all around us. They may be high overhead, digging through the dirt under our feet, or deep in the pond in front of us, but there are there. For the @little-peppers, often @papa-pepper will head into wherever the animals are and bring them out.
On these frequent occasions, we all get a close up look at these creatures. If they are not harmful or dangerous, we can even handle and interact with them. Baby turtles are some of those creatures!
Box Turtle
This young Box Turtle was found near where we live. Actually, Monster Truck the Pepper found it. It will have to be released soon, but we took the opportunity to get a good look at how cute this little guys is. We believe that he is an Ornate Box Turtle.
Map Turtle
This little Map Turtle was found in a nearby lake. When @papa-pepper saw it. he actually jumped to the ground flat on his belly to be close to the water and able to catch it. It worked, and when he arose he smelled like the plant Creeping Charlie, because he had hit the ground so hard that he crushed some of the plants on the lake shore. These tiny turtles have some amazing designs and colors on their shells.
Snapping Turtle
Now Snapping Turtles are nothing to mess with, but even the little two year old Sweet Pepper knows that the youngest babies are pretty safe. At this age, they have not yet developed their attitude, and do not constantly try to bite you like the larger ones. Their shell has also not hardened yet, so the turtles feel soft, rather than hard like older ones.
Red Eared Slider
This little Red Eared Slider is a cute one too, and was featured in the latest post by @papa-pepper. They kind of remind us of the little Painted Turtles that we used to find up north when we lived in Wisconsin. Though the species may sometimes be different, we are still glad to be able to find them!
We will keep showing you some of the animals around our home and around our area. We hope that you like the ones that we have showed off so far.

Cute pictures I had a tiny turtle like that when I was a kid. Dad and I used to put him on the back of a battery powered boat in the pool and he's go in circles. lol
LOL! We should try that sometime. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Aaaaaa the little peppers must love the homestead they might not relies it but they are so fortunate , beautiful pictures .
