RED PEPPER AND THE FLYING BEAUTIES
Lately, Red-Pepper has been enjoying the butterflies and moths, and she's been finding quite a few of them!
LUNA MOTH
One of the more recent finds was a giant green Luna Moth.
The adult life of the Luna Moth (Actias luna) doesn't last very long, but most years we manage to see at least one or two. Red-Pepper found one the other day, so we enjoyed it for a little bit and took some pictures. In the midst of all the snakes that we find, it was nice to see another creature, and to let the @little-peppers enjoy its beauty.
They can be so gentle and delicate, despite their size. Red-Pepper handled it with much care.
The "eyes" on the wings look so interesting!
They look so fuzzy or hairy up close too!
Have you ever seen one of these? We really enjoy them. Even @papa-pepper likes to check them out up close!
Here, you can see Red-Pepper chasing a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly.
In this one, she lets another Tiger Swallowtail go.
We even found a Bumblebee Moth the other day too!

Each spring, certain parts of the animal kingdom "come back alive," and we love it when that happens.
