Opal in the Park
Hi, this is Opal. This weekend it warmed up a little bit so we decided to go wander in the park and also eat. For some reason, I love bread. The parents got some bagels and coffee and we found a place in the park to settle down.
I can't settle down for long on that thing though. I just want to run around! But it's not off-leash hours, so I can't. What's out there? I smell... something... exciting!
Let go! Let go! I whine, and I bark, and I pull, but it's no use. I'm stuck. They are laughing at me, and they seem to be enjoying the sound of my whines. But I really want to chase it! Let go! Let go!
Alright, fine. So I go and sit on the nice leafy picnic mat, like a good dog. I just need to be patient and find the right timing.
"Opal, over here!"
A glistening piece of bread dangling in the air. I smell... something fishy on it too. Maybe they had a salmon bagel. I hop to the dangling bread. But it's out of reach. Oh the dumb games, I'll get them for this. I can jump pretty high though. I stand on my hind legs with good balance. Ah the bread... it's... within... chomp. Yum. Chewy bread.
Meanwhile, it's not crowded in the park. No people as far as we can see. Peaceful. The sound of birds singing in the trees. And the...
sniff sniff
My tail leaps up in excitement. No wait... I'm still on the leash. Let me see if I can distract them a bit.
Clang!
A weird noise in the background. A perfect distraction. I'll take it! Here's my chance! They let go of the leash!
Squirrel, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel squirrel, squirrel squirrel! SQUIRREL!
Squirrel squirrel? Squirrel...
Yeah you don't see a squirrel in that video, it already went up the tree by the time the video was shot. Stupid dad.

I enjoy some bread as Well. Lately I have had the strangest craving for Ice cream with crushed fruitloops like a powder sprinkled over it. Don't ask me why.
That doesn't sound half bad. I bet Opal would enjoy it.

Next time Opal, you have to talk to your owners and tell them you want to come during off leash hours, you need to be able to run around and be free
I just want to chase squirrels. Poor Opal can't chase squirrels in off-leash times. But she does like to be free and run around during those times as well. We do bring her there occasionally, but lately it's been pretty cold.
Yeah I can tell by looking at her coat. She is not the biggest dog so gotta keep her running around to stay warm

You got a beautiful dog, there are no squirrels where i live, but my dog loves to chase cats and birds around!
I think Opal gave up on birds at some point. Squirrels, she thinks she has a chance :)
