I'm back with the Snake Monday series ! Today i will give you more facts about the Carolina Ground Rattlesnake. Later that week also i might start posting one by one posts about Berlin.
This Rattlesnake can be found in south-east parts of USA. This is the smallest type of rattle snake and it reaches a length till around 0.6m. The Carolina Ground Rattlesnake inhabits flat and mixed forests, open spaces, flooded terraces and swampy terrains.It feeds mainly on small mammals and birds, and also with frogs and other snakes. The rattlesnake separates chemo-toxic poison, but in amounts insufficient to cause death in a healthy adult.Тhe unpleasant symptom disappears within a few days after the bite, but for the kids it is required medical treatment. The Carolina Ground breeds in the fall, hibernate over the winter, and birth their litters in late summer- giving birth to around 2-32 live young.
