150 horse power on

I consider myself lucky to live in the countryside. I love being able to go out and walk in a field or a forest straight from my garden, and to bring bits of the fields and forests back to my garden. And you never know who or what you're going to meet along the way. Some of the more regular appearances have become my neighbours, the donkeys and horses. Here are a few pictures I’ve taken of them over the years.

Horses have always been held in awe and high esteem by the civilisations that used them, and it’s easy to see why.

Although I’m not much of a horse person, by seeing them every day and taking the time to photograph them, observe them, and interact with them, these neighbours have come to grow on me.

I’ve also built a lot of sympathy for them.

But at the end of the day, they don’t give a sh*t about any of it. They just power on together. That’s what I like most about them.
