Birds on a Wire in Silhouette

When I was a kid, I always wonder why those birds are stepping on the electric wire and how come they are not being electrocuted.

Since the electric wires in the Philippines are hanged, most of the birds rest on them like what you see in the photo above. It's fun to see them move and hop from one spot to another as well as them seeing an almost uniform gap between each bird.
